As with other parts of the country during the summer, Colorado Real Estate can be expensive due to energy costs associated with air conditioning and more efficient doors and windows to keep cool air in and warm air out. Follow these helpful tips from your Realtor in Denver to save on energy costs during the summer.
Keep an eye on your thermostat
A Real Estate Agent Denver offers these tips on managing energy costs through your thermostat:
- Make sure it’s set as comfortably high in the summer as possible. The smaller the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower your overall cooling bill will be.
- If you’re going to be away, keep your thermostat set higher than normal, and then return it to 78 degrees Fahrenheit, as recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy.
